Source: Tulsa World, Okla.mini storageOct. 31--Think of it as a Tulsa history lesson with cardio -- seven miles' worth of it.The Tulsa Historic Neighborhoods Bike Tour is set for Sunday, with six scheduled stops and a brief speaker at each one.The event is free, and interested cyclists are invited to meet at 12:30 p.m. at WaterWorks Art Center, 1710 Charles Page Blvd., before rolling out at 1 p.m. on the tour."The weather's going to be perfect, spot-on," said event organizer Larry Mitchell. He's a resident of Crosbie Heights, which is one of the tour stops.The impetus of the event was to improve quality of life and Tulsans' perceptions of the areas on tour, Mitchell said.From there, the idea of adding some of the cultural sites in the neighborhoods came up.Like WaterWorks, which is housed in a renovated historical building in the Newblock Park neighborhood. The building once served as Tulsa's water treatment plant. From there, the tour goes to 306 Phoenix Community House, followed by a tour of the Phoenix 迷你倉ommunity garden.After that, it's on to the Tulsa Children's Museum and Brady Heights, where George Aveilhe will show the community garden. While in Brady Heights, cyclists will ride to beautiful Kennedy Mansion.
