Source: Morning Sentinel, Waterville, MaineOct.儲存 02--WATERVILLE -- If anybody is in a health insurance bind, Mark and Brenda Lint are. They're an example of what happens when you become injured, lose your job and health insurance and try to muddle your way through to get help."We're in a mess," Brenda Lint, 57, of Winslow, said Tuesday. The Lints attended a health insurance marketplace presentation Tuesday afternoon at Waterville Public Library, where Jake Grindle, a health marketplace navigator from the Western Maine Community Action Program, explained how uninsured people can find and sign up for affordable health care.Mark Lint, 58, his right arm in a sling, sat with his wife and about a dozen other people who sought answers to questions about the Affordable Care Act.Lint said he was told by his employer of 27 years that as of midnight Monday, he was terminated from his job as a gas delivery man.In early August, he had surgery on his shoulder for a torn rotator cuff, which he said was a work injury; but his company denied the claim. The company also said he doesn't quality for short-term disability because he is claiming a work injury. The workers' compensation board is reviewing the case but says it may be a year until he gets a decision, he said. Meanwhile, when he lost his job Monday, he also lost the insurance he had through work."He was terminated because he can't work," Brenda Lint said. "All he wants to do is get better and get back to work."She said she thought it might be less expensive to seek health insurance through the marketplace than by paying for COBRA, a transitional insurance coverage Mark Lint expects to get soon.Brenda Lint is disabled. She has had cancer, a knee replacement and a herniated disk in her back -- and gets Medicare Part A, she said. She learned Tuesday that she will not be able to get any further assistance through the marketplace because the Affordable Care Act does not allow someone receiving Medicare to do that. Instead, she must seek assistance through Medicare.Grindle said one of the most common calls he gets is from people who are on Medicare, asking whether they can sign up for insurance on the marketplace."The answer is definitely no," he said. "It really has nothing to do with Medicare."Brenda Lint said her husband will have to stay on COBRA until he can apply for insurance in the marketplace Jan. 1.The couple's 24-year-old son, who was on Mark's insurance through work, has Crohn's disease, and treatment for that costs $24,000 every eight weeks, they said."We really have to make sure that we have insurance," Brenda Lint said. After listening to Grindle's presentation, she said a lot of her questions were answered."Still, it's quite mind-boggling," she said. "I'm a little more hopeful that if you fill out an application through the marketplace, a lot of questions will be answered."Throughout Maine and self storagehe country Tuesday, thousands of people sought information about how the new federal health care program will work.Emily Brostek, consumer assistance program manager at Consumers for Affordable Health Care in Augusta, said the foundation's help line received at least 55 calls Tuesday, and two people visited the office in person to seek information. For comparison, the help line averaged about 15 calls per day in August.Joseph Ditre, the executive director of the Augusta-based organization, said people might have been frustrated by the delays they encountered on the phone or online, but he wants them to know that open enrollment will continue through March 31."That incredibly high call volume and online traffic really indicate a level of interest that shows that the program was needed," Ditre said.Brostek said the callers were a mix of people who don't have insurance and those who have individual insurance plans but want to see what the options are. Some were well-informed, but at least one person had never had health insurance and needed premiums and co-payments explained to her.Consumers for Affordable Health Care staff helped find answers to questions such as whether health care providers in Florida would accept one of the Maine plans, whether certain medications would be covered, whether callers' incomes would qualify them for tax credits, which of Maine's two plans would be best for the caller and how to help adult children purchase a plan through the marketplace. In Waterville, Grindle showed a slide presentation explaining how one can explore insurance options online and apply for insurance, which is required through the health care act."It is the law," he said. "That hasn't been a clearly-communicated thing throughout the country. It is the law and it's coming into effect right now. Its goal is to provide universal access to coverage."Cheryl Leonard, a navigator for the Kennebec Valley Community Action Program, was on hand and gave another presentation at the library later Tuesday. Both she and Grindle said people can get health insurance -- and help finding insurance that best suits their needs -- by going online to healthcare.gov or enroll207.com or by contacting community action programs or federally qualified health centers such as HealthReach. She and Grindle are ready to help people. Grindle may be reached at jgrindle@wmca.org or 860-4457. Leonard, who covers Kennebec and Somerset counties, may be reached at 859-1567, and callers may make an appointment."It is free," Leonard said. "Those who need help, that's what I'm here for."___(Kennebec Journal Staff Writer Susan McMillan contributed to this report.)___Amy Calder -- 861-9247acalder@centralmaine.comCopyright: ___ (c)2013 Morning Sentinel (Waterville, Maine) Visit the Morning Sentinel (Waterville, Maine) at .onlinesentinel.com Distributed by MCT Information Services迷利倉

電郵:ray@openrice.com鍾偉民(Ray)?飲食網站創辦人迷你倉最平

Increasing numbers of Chinese are heading to South Korea for plastic surgery, but this may soon change, as He Na reports.存倉 In the eyes of Sun Shuang’s friends and colleagues, she is an attractive woman with virtually all the attributes needed to live a happy life. The 30-year-old, who uses an alias, lives and works in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, is tall, slim and the mother of a 2-year-old boy. Her husband loves his family. They both have decent jobs with good salaries and own a large, well-decorated apartment and a car bought by their parents when the couple married. Before giving birth, Sun was highly confident and extroverted, but afterwards became a little depressed and didn’t like talking or even going shopping with her friends, an activity she used to enjoy. When she went out, she walked with her head down. Sun did not explain the reason for the change in her behavior to anyone, apart from her husband. It turned out that Sun’s breasts — a little small before she gave birth — became much smaller after she breastfed her son. Her husband said he didn’t mind and loved her more than ever. But Sun said she wanted to undergo breast surgery in South Korea. Afraid that her symptoms may develop into deep depression, her husband gave his approval. With the help of a Shanghai-based website that organizes plastic surgery and sightseeing for Chinese in South Korea, the operation was a success. “The shape and feel of my breasts is pretty much the same as real ones. Even my husband says that I look better and I am more confident than before,” she said. In recent years increasing numbers of Chinese have opted for plastic surgery in South Korea to improve their appearance, significantly stimulating development of the country’s plastic surgery tourism industry, a high-revenue earner each year. Data from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute show the number of customers traveling to the country for medical-care tourism has risen steadily in recent years. The number of short-term customers (less than 15 days) rose to 150,000 in 2012, some 30,000 more than the year before. Customers from China led the way, followed by those from the United States, Japan, Russia and Mongolia. “Medical-care tourism, which combines medical treatment such as plastic surgery and physical checkups with sightseeing, has injected new blood into the two industries, not only creating more jobs that stimulate our economy, but also cultivating more professionals and driving the development of related educational industries,” said Kim Se-mann, executive director of the medical tourism department of the Korea Tourism Organization. Why go to Korea? Kim said about 31,000 Chinese entered South Korea on medical-care tourism visas in 2012, of which 62.9 percent were traveling for plastic surgery. This compares with only 4,700 in 2009. Liu Ming, 28, who w儲存rks for a real estate company in Sanming, a city in Fujian province, underwent a double eyelid operation in South Korea in June. “Although it’s much more expensive than the price I was quoted by large plastic surgery institutes in China, I still thought the money was well spent,” she said. “The surgery was perfect and after two months’ recovery my new, large eyes look natural, pretty and bright, totally changing the impression I had on others before, when friends often joked that even if I opened my eyes to their widest they still thought I was sleepy.” China’s plastic surgery industry has developed quickly in recent years and the country has a considerable number of plastic surgery institutes that customers can choose from. However, many people still prefer to travel to South Korea. Jason Liu, manager of the South Korean department of .6mchina.com, who travels between China and South Korea almost every month, said the reasons for this are proven technology, better service, South Korea’s position in world fashion circles and the fact that it is near China. Liu also said the increasing influence of Korean popular culture, such as the TV series Dae Jang Geum, popular songs like Gangnam Style and a batch of well-known singers, actors and actresses are other factors attracting increasing numbers of Chinese. In some plastic surgery hospitals in Seoul, the South Korean capital, more than 80 percent of the customers are Chinese. Better changes “Negative reports on some failed plastic surgery in recent years also scared away some customers and reduced people’s confidence in the industry in China. People would rather spend more to undergo the surgery in South Korea,” Liu said. “Currently, we have a batch of middle-aged customers who underwent plastic surgery operations several years ago in China who plan to come to South Korea for recovery operations,” he added. “Our website was established in 2009 and our customer numbers have steadily increased during the past four years, with an annual increase of between 70 and 80 percent. “So far, a considerable number of our customers look very pretty to me, but still hope to have small operations to make them look better and become more confident,” he said. “Besides, seeking beauty is not the sole preserve of young people. We have customers of different age groups with different plastic-surgery demands,” Liu added. He said college students, especially those at art schools, will mainly have nose and eye surgery, while white-collar workers opt for facial improvement, such as changing the shape of the face.

Monthly premiums and the number of options depend on a person's age, where they live and whether they smoke.A 40-year-old Minnesota consumer living in downtown Rochester, for example, has only one option through MNsure -- a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota policy that's much more expensive than in St. Paul, with a monthly premium of $326."I really do think that people are going to have a positive experience with it," said Sen. Tony Lourey, a DFLer from Kerrick who carried legislation this year to create the state's health insurance exchange -- one of 16 created by individual states around the country in response to a federal mandate. The new health insurance marketplaces are part of the federal Affordable Care Act, which requires almost all U.S. adults to have health insurance by next year or pay a tax penalty. The online exchanges are an option for individuals and small businesses purchasing coverage. The federal government, which is operating one massive health insurance exchange that covers 36 states, including Wisconsin, also launched its marketplace Tuesday. But federal officials acknowledged during a conference call Tuesday afternoon that many users were running into a glitch that blocked them from creating accounts on the website."We certainly had a high volume of consumers creating accounts, and we got word of users having issues," said Marilyn Tavenner of the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, during a conference call with reporters. "With any new product launch, there are going to be glitches as things unfold."Insurance policies purchased by Dec. 15 through an exchange will take affect Jan. 1. People covered by the federal Medicare program and those in large employer health plans with good benefits will not use the new marketplaces. There's no penalty for a coverage gap of less than three months into next year, so a person who buys health insurance up until March 31 and keeps it for the rest of the year could still comply with the coverage mandate. In recent weeks, MNsure officials have stressed the t迷你倉最平meline -- and the idea that consumers don't have to shop right away -- while disclosing a number of website features that won't be available immediately. The majority of people expected to use MNsure are covered by the state's public health insurance programs, but those consumers won't be able to fully enroll in the Medicaid and MinnesotaCare programs by using the website.Minnesota small-business owners, defined as those with 50 employees or fewer, can start shopping for group coverage right away, but their employees won't actually be able to select a plan through the system until December. As of Tuesday, thousands of insurance agents and a new group of advisers, called "navigators," still hadn't been certified to help consumers use MNsure. State officials said a directory with the names of helpers would begin to be available Wednesday, but the federal government's website already had a listing Tuesday for consumer advisers in Wisconsin. While Minnesota was one of the last health exchanges to launch on Tuesday, earlier starts in Colorado, Maryland and Washington resulted in websites that struggled to handle traffic and had to shut down."We had some unexpected bottlenecks as we experienced some very heavy traffic to the site," said Danielle Davis, the director of communications for Maryland Health Connection.By Tuesday afternoon, Colorado's website was reporting 55,000 unique visitors. In its first 90 minutes of operation Tuesday, California's health exchange had more than 1 million website hits.In the District of Columbia, more than 3,300 accounts in the individual and family market were created Tuesday, and nearly 400 people completed applications for coverage. Of those, 175 had requested invoices, and four people paid for coverage that begins Jan. 1."It's an indication of the pent-up demand for quality, affordable health care," said Richard Sorian, a spokesman for DC Health Link.Federal officials said they would not be offering such numbers on Tuesday. A trial of the federal website -- available at https://.healthcare.gov/marketplace/individual/ -- started on Tuesday morning with a wait of about 10 minutes before a login in page finally appeared. The system then repeatedly got hung-up at a screen where users were to establish security questions. After a call of more than 20 minutes, an operator said the website was having trouble handling a high volume of traffic and that consumers should try later. In Balsam Lake, Wis., northeast of the Twin Cities, Julie Baryluk said she wasn't even trying on Tuesday to use the federal health exchange website, even though she's gone through training and certification to help consumers use it."I know that, with any system, you don't go in on the first day," said Baryluk, a family health benefits counselor in the Polk County Health Department. "I've asked people to please be patient."Christopher Snowbeck can be reached at 651-228-5479. Follow him at .twitter.com/chrissnowbeck.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the Pioneer Press (St. Paul, Minn.) Source: La Crosse Tribune, Wis.儲存倉Sept. 30--Greg Parmeter didn't always envision himself an actor, let alone the artistic director of a community theater.Instead, the 33-year-old native of Thermopolis, Wyo., expected a career teaching history, maybe coaching a little high school football.Life, it seems, had other plans.Theater always interested him, Parmeter said, he had performed in plays all throughout high school and even as he started college at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D., but it was only a hobby."It was never something I looked at as being a legitimate career option," Parmeter said. But by his junior year, he had decided that theater, in one capacity or another, was where he wanted to work.He even met his wife, Mandy, on stage. The couple were cast as husband and wife in a play Parmeter's freshman year. But it wasn't quite a fairy tale encounter."Her character was dead and mine was crazy," he said, "It's not as romantic as people might think."After finishing graduate school in Lincoln, Neb., the now married couple were headed out to the Virginia Shakespeare Festival in Williamsburg, Va. After that? Who knew?"We didn't know where we were going," Mandy said.Parmeter wanted a career as a professional actor. He wanted to be able to work consistently enough that acting would be his sole work. But, in the meantime, there were bills to pay. That was when Mandy was offered a job at the La Crosse Community Theatre. It was only supposed to be a temporary thing until they could find other employment."I had no intention of doing community theater," Parmeter said, "The thing about being an artist is that you are looking for fulfilling work to do."As far as he was concerned, that fulfillment could only be found on a professional stage."That's part of the stereotype of community theater," he said. Many people have the idea that community theaters lack the quality of professional work. The, about the time the drive to move the LCT to its current location got started, Parmeter landed his current job of artistic director."It didn't take long before I fell in love with the people and the community theater," he said.Parmeter learned that the fulfillment he was looking for was right here."We don't diminish the quality of work we do by saying it's only community theater," he said, "American theater is community theater."David Kilpatrick, executive director of the LCT agrees. "Professional is about an attitude and a commitment."Kilpatrick said that Parmeter brings every bit as much enthusiasm and energy as he would to a professional venue. The two- or 迷你倉最平hree-year pitstop in their careers has turned into seven years. The couple have a 3-year-old son, Benjamin, who was born in La Crosse.Parmeter is in his sixth season with the LCT, and, in addition to his duties as artistic director, he directs about four shows a year."This year it's only three," he said. But four seems to be the golden number, especially as the theater expands its season from seven shows a year to nine this year.Finding employment in community theater isn't the only departure from his original plans."Primarily, I'm an actor," he said -- yet now he spends most of his time directing. He still finds time to get on stage, too, filling in for actors in a few spot situations and even in a show at the Pumphouse. He played the wizard in a performance of "The Wizard of Oz" for the LCT a while ago.Parmeter relishes these opportunities."I miss the physical doing," he said.Still, his role as artistic director offers him challenges that keep him on his toes."I'm still really learning the job," he said. That job is to oversee the artistic and technical quality of all the theater's productions.Essentially, Parmeter said, "My job is to find talented people and put them in a position where they can succeed."Regardless of whether Parmeter is still learning the job, he is good at it.Jennifer Nichols Wilkinson has worked as a choreographer on four plays Parmeter directed and one in which he was the assistant director."He's very easy to work with," Wilkinson said. "He gives you expectations, and then he kind of lets you go.""It's not the director's job to tell everybody what to do," Parmeter said. But if he doesn't like something, he's still completely honest with you, Wilkinson said."At the end of the day, it really is my job to edit the piece," Parmeter said.Greg and Mandy don't feel any need to move on either."It's such a transient world," Parmeter said of theater. But, he maintains, as long as he is enjoying his job and finding artistic fulfillment, "There's no reason for going to another place."Plus, he gets a bit more freedom than he might if he worked in a larger venue. He might be able to make more money elsewhere, but here he gets a say in picking the pieces he directs."That's worth a lot of money right there," he said.So while his career hasn't gone quite the way he planned, Parmeter is happy where he is."Community Theater," he said, "can be pretty damn fantastic."Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the La Crosse Tribune (La Crosse, Wis.) Source: Detroit Free PressSept.迷你倉最平 30--MARQUETTE -- Michigan's tourist gems will be shuttered tomorrow if Congress can't approve a federal budget today."I'm sure some visitors will be disappointed," said Tom Ulrich, deputy superintendent of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Empire in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula. If forced to close Tuesday, the park will be reduced to a skeleton staff and the popular Pierce Stocking scenic drive swept of visitors, then padlocked.Isle Royale National Park, which still has visitors hiking and camping in the far reaches of remote park in the middle of Lake Superior, was due to close for the season on Oct. 20. A federal shutdown tomorrow would speed that up, said Betsy Rossini, assistant superintendent."We hoped it would not really happen, but it looks like it's going to," she said this morning.Pictured Rocks National儲存Lakeshore in Munising also would close to visitors just as fall color hits its peak, a spokeswoman confirmed today. It also still has visitors camping and hiking in the far reaches of the park along Lake Superior. For travelers, a government shutdown would bring headaches and worries. For now, passport applications will still be processed by the Department of State, and airport security and operations will remain staffed. But a shutdown means that tomorrow every federal park and federal tourist attraction from the Statue of Liberty to the Grand Canyon to Smithsonian museums would be closed.Ulrich hoped Congress could still find a way to avoid a shutdown."We are still hopeful," he said Monday. "We want to keep the place open."Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the Detroit Free Press Visit the Detroit Free Press at .freep.com Distributed by MCT Information Servicesmini storage

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.自存倉, Sept. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the uninterruptible power supplies market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Riello UPS with the 2013 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Leadership. Riello UPS uniquely designs its products to provide a balanced combination of various features and functionalities, instead of focusing on a single feature.Riello UPS continually adds innovative elements to its existing product line. The SuperCaps UPS is a fine example of innovative UPS systems, as it uses super capacitors to accumulate energy, instead of conventional batteries. The SuperCaps UPS increases energy efficiency, reduces dependency from ambient working temperature and reduces footprints, making it ideal for installations where floor space is limited, in extreme temperature working environment and in applications sensitive to short power supply interruptions. At the heart of the SuperCaps UPS is a sophisticated control system that manages the charge/discharge cycle of the super-capacitors and optimizes its lifecycle, which may exceed a million cycles. Therefore, SuperCaps represents the best choice whenever long life time, low maintenance needs, and tolerance to extreme ambient conditions are required.Riello UPS's new containerized solution, PowerBox, contains all the switchgear and distribution panels needed to deliver uninterruptible power from a combination of power solutions. This includes a UPS, flywheel energy storage system, battery packs and suitably rated generator. The PowerBox enables customers to use more building space for critical IT infrastructure by eliminating the need for dedicated space in the central facility or plant room for UPS systems.Riello UPS recently developed a transformer-based UPS, the Master HP HE (where HE stands for High Efficiency), which compares well with top-class transformer-less UPS in terms of efficiency and compactness. At the same time, it offers the advantages of an output isolation transformer architecture in terms of electrical security and reliability. This unique combination makes the Master HP HE the best uninterruptible power supply the market is looking for."The three key aspects that have stoked the high acceptance of Riello's products in the global market are performance, reliability and service," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Gautham Gnanajothi. "Riello UPS employs a sophisticated self-diagnostic system in its UPSs, which makes problem identification extremely simple. Furthermore, the overall architecture and design of Riello's UPS allows technicians to repair or replace the PC boards and any other components quickly and easily."Importantly, Riello UPS ensures superior ROIs in all its products. The company achieves this by ensuring top in class energy efficiency, the highest protection for the load, superior power conversion and reduced need for air conditioning. Riello also offers flexible operating modes such as on-line, smart, and stand-by in order to ensure minimum consumption, and compatibility with the conditions of the load and the mains. The company's high-quality solutions and excellent ROI can also be attributed to its power storage efficiency. Riello incorporates intelligent charging/discharging cycles to guarantee longer battery life. The flexibility of possible parallel architectures and dynamic parallel management further enhance the value of the product.Riello UPS stands out for the efficiency and reliability of its products, causing competing UPS manufacturers to try emulating its success. For instance, in the three-phase range, some of Riello's competitors try to match its efficiency, and others, its energy density (KW/sq.m; others attempt to provide comparable communication features."Though thesmini storage competing companies may find some level of success in individual features, none offer the holistic performance efficiency of Riello's UPS solution," concluded Gnanajothi. Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated innovation in product features and functionality that provides enhanced quality and higher value to customers. The award recognizes the rapid acceptance such innovation finds in the marketplace.Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.About Riello UPSRiello UPS is the brand of the static Uninterruptible Power Supplies designed and produced by RPS S.p.A., a company based in Italy owned by Riello Elettronica Group.
