Source: Tulsa World, Okla.儲存Jan. 27--Oklahoma musicians didn't fare well in the Grammy Awards on Sunday, though they shared those losses with good company.Of the six nominations directly for Oklahomans, there were no winners. But, even if they didn't leave with awards, the Oklahomans had some of the night's best performances.Kings of Leon were nominated for Best Rock Album for their latest, "Mechanical Bull," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 after it was released in September. The album lost to rock legends Led Zeppelin for "Celebration Day," a live album from the group's 2007 performance from London's O2 Arena.Though Kings of Leon, whose members grew up in southeast Oklahoma, have been together for more than a decade, the band doesn't come close to the longevity of the other nominees: Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Queens of the Stone Age and Neil Young with Crazy Horse. It would have been the fifth Grammy for Kings of Leon.Blake Shelton was up for Best Country Album for "Based on a True Story...," but lost in a tight race with newcomer Kacey Musgraves, who won two Grammys on Sunday.Musgraves also beat superstar Taylor Swift in the category, establishing herself as a major future contender in country music.Shelton and Miranda Lambert were competing against each other and had the best chance to win in the Best Country Solo Performance category. Darius Rucker snatched that one away for his cover of "Wagon Wheel." The song was outlined by Bob Dylan and completed by Old Crow Medicine Show's Ketch Secor. While I love the original version, I don't think Rucker's was the country performance of the year. Shelton's song "Mine Would Be You" and Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart" each could or should have pulled down the award, but Grammy voters disagreed.Nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance was Kelly Clarkson with Vince Gill for "Don't Rush." It's a power duo on its own, but the tortured group The Civil Wars took the prize. A lot of heartbreak went into the Civil Wars' latest -- the duo broke up after its release -- and it comes through in the album.I guess Gill will have to wait a little longer on Grammy No. 21.In the gospel categories, former Tulsan and Gap Band member Charlie Wilson lost to Tye Tribbett for Best Gospel Song. Wilson was nominated for the songwriter award for "If I Believe," from "Love, Charlie."Tribbett did win two Grammys Sunday for his fantastic work in Gospel music, and it's great to see young people doing well in the category. While Shelton didn't receive a trophy Sunday, he was part of one of the best performances of the evening. Shelton sang with the reunion of the remaining Highwaymen: Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson, with country legend Merle Haggard joining the group as well. Kristofferson received the Grammy's Lifetime Achievement Award at a ceremony Saturday.I would have been just as thrilled if the men just stood on stage together the whole time, but the performance was sublime.Kristofferson and Nelson started with "Highwayman," and were then joined on stage by Haggard and Shelton for "Okie From Muskogee." That was followed by Nelson's "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys."The men earned a standing ovation for a performance that seemed more like it was just old friends getting together for a short jam. The men proved they've still got it after all these years.Lambert also took the Grammy stage Sunday. Lambert performed with Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong in a tribute to Phil Everly, who died earlier this year. Armstrong released an album with Norah Jones of covers of Everly Brothers songs, and Lambert did a fine job singing a sweet duet with the rock star.Other awards that involved Oklahomans but didn't get them a direct nomination were OneRepublic, whose remix by Alesso was nominated for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical and "The Smith Tapes," which featured interviews with Oklahomans Leon Russell, Tom Paxton and Carl Radle. Neither won the trophy.Winners in selected categories at the 56th annual Grammy Awards announced Sunday during ceremonies at the Nokia Theatre and Staples Center:-- Album of the year: "Random Access Memories," Daft Punk.-- Record of the year: "Get Lucky," Daft Punk with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.-- Song of the year: "Royals," Lorde.-- New artist: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.-- Pop solo performance: "Royals," Lorde.-- Pop vocal album: "Unorthodox Jukebox," Bruno Mars-- Pop/duo group performance: "Get Lucky," Daft Punk with Pharrell and Nile Rodgers.-- Rap/sung collaboration: "Holy Grail," Jay Z with Justin Timberlake.-- Rock song: "Cut Me Some Slack," Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.-- Country album: "Same Trailer Different Park," Kacey Musgraves.-- Traditional pop vocal album: "To Be Loved," Michael Buble.-- Rap performance: "Thrift Shop," Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz.-- Rap song: "Thrift Shop," Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz.-- Rap album: "The Heist," Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.-- R&B performance: "Something," Snarky Puppy with Lalah Hathaway.-- Traditional R&B performance: "Please Come Home," Gary Clark Jr.-- R&B song: "Pusher Love Girl," James Fauntleroy, Jerome Harmon, Timothy Mosley and Justin Timberlake.-- R&B album: "Girl on Fire," Alicia Keys.-- Urban contemporary album: "Unapologetic," Rihanna.-- Rock performance: "Radioactive," Imagine Dragons.-- Rock album: "Celebration Day," Led Zeppelin.-- Hard rock/metal performance: "God is Dead," Black Sabbath.-- Alternative music album: "Mode迷你倉n Vampires of the City," Vampire Weekend.-- Dance recording: "Clarity," Zedd featuring Foxes.-- Dance/electronica album: "Random Access Memories," Daft Punk.-- Producer of the year, non-classical: Pharrell Williams.-- Latin pop album: "Vida," Draco Rosa-- Latin rock, urban or alternative album: "Treinta Dias," La Santa Cecilia.-- Latin jazz album: "Song for Maura," Paquito D'Rivera and Trio Corrente.-- Tropical Latin album: "Pacific Mambo Orchestra," Pacific Mambo Orchestra.-- Country solo performance: "Wagon Wheel," Darius Rucker.-- Country duo/group performance: "From This Valley," The Civil Wars.-- Country song: "Merry Go 'Round," Kacey Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Josh Osbourne.-- Gospel song: "If He Did It Before ...
