But Wednesday, with Valley business on its agenda, the UT System Board of Regents facilities planning and construction committee will meet. The board will also meet Thursday, when it will hear more from UT System Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa about the new Valley university.The approval to issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a campus master plan of the new Valley school is on the UT System board committee's agenda. The Monitor made an informal request Monday asking the UT System for a copy of the RFQ, but it was not received by press time Tuesday.Last month, Gov. Rick Perry traveled to the迷你倉庫Valley for a ceremonial signing of the bill that allows for the University of Texas at Brownsville and the University of Texas-Pan American to merge into one new campus. Officials have promised the historic development will also bring a medical school, positively affecting the region's economy, educational landscape and healthcare industry.In other Valley business, on Thursday, Cigarroa "will provide comments on the new University of Texas System institution in South Texas" and a video presentation will be made, according to the board agenda.The chancellor will also discuss his "Framework for Advancing Excellence" action plan for all 15 UT campuses.
